AMD Radeon E9173

Post by wicorn29temp »

Please add the AMD Radeon E9173 to the supported gpu json file. I have a server farm with about 30 of these graphics cards, and would like to put them to work folding as they are currently not doing anything.

Welcome to the folding support forum.

This GPU may already be supported if the PCI device ID matches what I was able to look up. AMD used the same number for a range of cards sharing the same GPU chip. The information I found online for the E9173 was that its device ID was 0x1002:0x699f. That is already present in the GPUs.txt and should be in the .json file which is generated from the same database. Only difference is that the values in the .json are converted from hexadecimal to decimal.

From the GPUs.txt file:

Code: Select all

 0x1002:0x699f:1:3:Lexa PRO [Radeon 540/540X/550/550X/RX 540X/550/550X]
Could you verify the device ID using one of the methods outlined in this post about how to find it? If it is different from what I found please post that information.

Some methods are specific to the older v7 client. If you are running Linux and using the v8 client you will need to use lspci on its own, the callout to invoke it is not part of the v8 client.

The E9173 is not the most powerful card, I am not sure how much folding work is available still. But you are welcome to try and see if it is usable.

Yes, it seems 699f is pci id of that GPU, which is already on a whitelist. I added E9173 to the name as well
