Bug in the application

Post by wnf »

Every time I have to restart or turn off the computer, the application downloads and starts another project instead of continuing the project I was running. I've lost several projects because of this.

Check viewtopic.php?p=327412#p327412, or the post below that, on how to post the first 100 lines or so of the log. If you're running Linux you may also want to tell which flavor and version.

Are you running on Windows? If so there is a known problem where Windows sends a signal to shutdown active processes and then does not wait long enough for the folding cores and client to exit. That can corrupt the checkpoints. Basically if running on Windows pausing all work before shutting down is recommended. The current v.8.4.9 release has some changes to help avoid this, but not a full fix for the Windows failure to wait for processes to exit.

P.S. The folding cores can take a minute or so to cleanly exit.
