MacOS - Using connected Iphone/Ipad compute power through MacOS

Post by kasdashdfjsah »

This might not even be technically possible, but it's just an idea.

Since BOINC can't be installed directly on iOS, it would be awesome if you could connect your Iphone or Ipad to your Mac, and use the mobile device's compute power to run more BOINC tasks on your Mac that way.

Since the M4 iPad Pro at least supports thunderbolt through it's USB C port, and probably other Apple mobile devices too, this might be possible with the right BOINC client programming, with enough bandwidth available.

What do you all think of this idea, ignoring how "out there" and impossible this idea might be to realize?

Sorry, I was certain that I wrote BOINC AND Folding at home, which is what I meant. I've posted this on the BOINC forum too, where I mentioned both clients, so don't know what went wrong here. Sorry once again :)
