Suggestion for updating was because latest beta is vastly more feature rich than 8.3 version. And it fixes quite a few issues. And reboot thing is just a tip, since there is still one bug in Windows client, as it kills any running WUs when rebooting the system. I mean windows kills WUs, not client

Gotcha. What determines whether it says true or false on supported?
I honestly don't know. It might be nothing, but it might be that client does not support the card, which again it shouldn't matter, since fahclient does not compute things, it just a tool to run the cores which compute things. I'll know more on Sunday, when I get my own card. I will be able to try folding, and see if that "False" means anything
Sounds good, hopefully the hardware is capable. Seems like it should be according to published specs. Would be nice to have Intel in the fold, so to speak. Thanks for the assistance, looking forward to seeing how it goes when your card arrives.
What exactly was entered into the GPUs.txt database? I just pulled the latest GPUs.txt file from - https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt - and do not see an entry for the B580 anywhere. May also have to check the gpus.json file that the v8 client downloads and uses instead of GPUs.txt.

json would have been updated when v8 client was installed and started, and it would have grabbed latest version from server
Server versions of GPUs.txt and gpus.json have not yet been updated, still no entry for PCI ID 0x8086:0xe20b. So until that propagates from the entry you made to the GPUs Editor, the v7 and v8 clients are not going to recognize the card. I guess it depends on when and how often Joseph has updates exported out to the active files on the servers. The most recently downloaded copy of the .json file on my systems is from just a few hours ago, it does not yet include the entry for the B580.
I just checked https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt is still not updated. Something is broken... I pinged Joe.
Changes to GPUs.txt on server must be instant, otherwise wtf are we doing here. Client side updates can be a bit less responsive, it's not a problem.
I received my GPU, but I cannot test it because things keep breaking at the wrong time
