RTX GPU going into low power?

Post by jchang6 »

My AD104 RTX 4060 Ti is now working with the new GPUs.txt file.
however, just in the last couple of days, whenever the system (windows) display turns off, the GPU is now going into low power mode?
normally, PPD is around 6M,
if the display shutoff and I touch a key, it shows 1.5M PPD or something. This did not happen initially or on other systems (GPU folding only). FaH prevents the system from going to sleep, GPU runs FaH at the normal rate, with only project specific variations.
I can't any setting is different in a meaningful way?

Make sure your screen sleep setting is "Never".

If using a laptop you can set the screensaver to "Blank".

If it's a deskop just turn off the monitor using the Power switch.

You can also try to set Prefer Maximum Performance for Power Management setting in nVidia Control Panel.

I will give the nVidia Control Panel, Power Management setting: Prefer Maximum Performance a try
however, other computers are in normal
and when display shuts off with no effect.
only this one system, not sure if I changed something

I never use display power saving option on desktops ... I turn off the screen with the power button when I'm not going to use it.

I would even say that I disable all power saving features on dedicated folding machines ...

Strange. In Win10 I have my display sleep set at 10 minutes, but it never impacts folding speed.

My NVIDIA Control Panel has no power options that I see.
Fold them if you get them!
