No activation email from Folding@

I recently upgraded my folding clients to the latest which seem as if they're now based upon the standard login credential format, email and pw.
I have been waiting over a week to receive an activation email.
So far I tried recreating the account and I get a server error that mainly says one already exists.
Then I try to retrieve the password and Folding@ says that the account is not activated.

What's up with the emailing system?
...ps. It's NOT in my junk. I don't think the email was ever sent.

The emails get blocked as spam by some email service providers.
You might try creating a new account using a different email. If you get an error saying the passkey is taken, you might try the alpha v8.4 web control https://v8-4.foldingathome.org

I think you can use it without upgrading the client to 8.4.
