Hello,
I try to do folding at home and I keep getting this error that makes it disconnect: 14:07:41:ERROR:Receive error: 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
I have done a lot of things to try to make my firewall stop blocking it cause I think that's what it may be.
Such as putting my pc in the DMZ as a static IP on my router. allowing it through the firewall in windows 11 as well as command line.
It would be great if anyone else has dealt with this issue and knows how to fix it.
I would love to get back to folding.
Cheers,
Jasper

Re: 10053 error
You have just shown the error message, but not where it occurs. There are network connections both local and external.
I am assuming you are using the v7 client. Internally the client communicates over two localhost ports with either the web based control or FAHControl. FAHControl uses port 36330 on the localhost address 127.0.0.1, it has been so long since I used v7 that I have forgotten which port the web control uses. Port 36330 is also used by the API provided for third party software to communicate with the FAHClient process.
Externally FAHClient uses ports 80 and 8080 to connect with the servers. The protocol used is HTTP. Some default settings for firewalls and anti-malware software block use of these ports by anything but "known" browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc. In this case FAHClient needs to be added as a permitted app to use these ports for network connections.

Re: 10053 error
I have done a bit of reading and it seems like most people have an issue with the FAHviewer. I have since turned that off and it has been working fine. It's a shame though cause I do like to watch the simulation that my PC is working on sometimes.
If I have anymore issues with it even with the viewer off I'll check the proxy stuff. I don't know too much about how to allow it though. I did delete the line from the config file but it seemed to come back.
Also I'm using client version 7.6.21.
Thanks again Joe
