I have been getting a few CPU jobs with no descriptions from vav19.fah.temple.edu as well as some strange ones that seem to take an extreme amount of time.
The current one I am working on with no description is Project: 18429
An example of one I completed that took an extremely long time was the last CPU project I did yesterday. Took nearly 12 hours when most all of them take around 1-2 hours 5 at max.
I don't know how to look up my work history or I would provide a project number for it.
I have a crazy powerful system I built myself that is 100% stable with near infinite uptime. (I have never had it crash since I built it unless I do something directly that makes it crash/user error.)
CPU: 12th Intel i9-12900K 3200Mhz
GPU: Nvidia RTX A4500 (Yes that is a workstation GPU that has 20 GB GDDR6 Vram)
When I built It I ensured my ram chips (Inside the actual card, ram brand means nothing it's the chipset that counts) where manufactured by SK hynix because the samsung ones suck. And my storage is Sk hynix Platinum NVMe ssds that at the time where the fasted SSD drives in existence on the planet (I don't know if that claim still true.)
My cooling is perfect, and the system is very very fast and literally designed for workstation application not gaming. Crunching numbers and rendering simulations. (though it do game prtty gud.)
I don't like not knowing what I am supporting. Also don't know if projects coming from the same server are from the same source/location but if so then this looks like a trend and I would be tempted to just avoid doing things for that server. Thanks

Re: No descriptions
18429 is a continuation of other projects in the 1842n range, the link to the description may be missing or broken. There is this description from others in the series - https://stats.foldingathome.org/project/18420.
The Project Summary page provides basic information on active projects - https://apps.foldingathome.org/psummary. In this way 18429 can be compared with others, it comes from the same researcher, server, and has similar size in atoms and points.
I can send a reminder to the researcher to check the description link for this one.

Thanks for the info. I am kinda new here so I don't know where all the data and information about stuff is squirreled away.Joe_H wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 7:49 pm 18429 is a continuation of other projects in the 1842n range, the link to the description may be missing or broken.
