Hello
I was wondering if the people working on the F&H software do a monthly update? Something similar to what Clem does here: https://blog.linuxmint.com/
Thanks

Re: Software Monthly Update
The science FAH produces is a rather slow process and it has to follow the academic rules : you only get updates when something is published (and reviewed).

Re: Software Monthly Update
Actually, I was interested in software updates not science updates. For example;
When will the next version of the software, version 7 or 8 come out?
What new features are planned?
I am assuming the programmers/developers provide periodic updates to the the people running the show. Can they provide a public version of that?
Knowing some of this information might be helpful when updating my computers.
Thanks.

Re: Software Monthly Update
No, there is no regular update schedule, monthly or otherwise.
Another v7 release is extremely unlikely.
Development is focused on v8.
There is a public beta of v8

No ETAs are ever given.
I’m not aware of any roadmap document.

Re: Software Monthly Update
You say 'programmers/developers' as if there was more than one. There is AFAIK, only one. Mr Coffland does wonderful, but if you add tasks, he will get less done.

Re: Software Monthly Update
There are volunteers helping with the client.
Now that it is open source, any developer can contribute. (At the risk of overwhelming the lead developer with github tickets and pull requests.)
Many others are working on cores, gromacs, openmm.
