Please add Radeon Graphics RX Vega 7 to whitelist

Post by Gary480six »

A friend got a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 and is trying to Fold with it.

I suspect the onboard GPU is not in the whitelist.

He sent me a screenshot of his GPUz page.

Vendor: lenovo

Device ID: 1002 15E7 - 17AA 3806

Can this be added to GPUs.txt?

We will add this to whitelist, however, please, do not expect this iGPU to receive much of work, if any. Species 2 (which this GPU will be classed as) is extremely slow for modern FAH workloads, and at some point we were thinking to completely disable that species, as it rarely manages to come around the project which can be completed in time :/

Please restart your computer, to hopefully pick up new copy of GPUs.txt
Added as Species 3.WOuld be great to get a GPU Z screenshot, amybe it has some more clues of what it actually is, that we can determine more precisely what performance bracket it is at. The higher bracket, the more chance to receive work

WOW...
Thanks for getting this iGPU in the whitelist.

I told my friend to restart his Lenovo Flex to try and pick up the updated GPUs.txt.

I'll let you know what he says.

My friend restarted Folding on that Lenovo. It got the new GPUs.txt files and Yippee... the iGPU is now Folding.

When he sends me some PPD numbers I'll pass them along.

Thanks again muziqaz

UPDATE: 60,600 PPD on the iGPU

According to the Advanced Control screen it's AMD's Cezanne mobile processor - though GPUz called it the Barcelo chip.

Advanced Control calls it what I named it in the whitelist ;) That's why I asked for GPU Z screenshot to get some more ideas on the name :D
60k PPD is roughly Species 3 territory.

P.S. APU is Cezanne ;)

Please upload again and send the link in DM. The link you posted here someone downloaded already and since you probably set it to expire after 1 download, I cannot download again :D
