It works on my computer running macOS.
I've not heard about failures from anyone else.
Why it fails on your system is a mystery bug.
I'll boot Windows in the future to try to reproduce.
If anyone else has this problem, I'd love to hear about it.
Log rotated, but the log does not continue or a new one opens

Re: Log rotated, but the log does not continue or a new one opens
I certainly think the R: has something to do with it.
You said it isn’t a NAS; do you already have driver letters D: thru U: assigned to other drives?
Really have that many physical drives or partitions in your system?
I don’t know how windows drive letters work, but is R: pointing to a specific subdirectory on a partition?
If you used C: as the target does the log rotate?

Re: Log rotated, but the log does not continue or a new one opens
Yes, I took C: as the target and have an SSD inside, but still it didn't do the log rotation without any idea, the R: drive was a RamDisk on my system and I had the work- Directory set up, but had no problems with folding, but unfortunately I still don't know if it has something to do with Windows, I have Windows Server 2022 Standard 21H2 as the operating system and have an AMD EPYC 7502P 32-core processor for the hardware, so it must be either Windows or maybe the system.

Windows 10 currently, right? Hmm. Still doesn’t work when you switch to C: drive.
I’m out ideas. I assume someone else in this thread is successfully running on Windows 10 and the log is rotating.

Re: Log rotated, but the log does not continue or a new one opens
On my Windows 10 install, the log rotated at the start of the day, and the previous day was kept in the logs. I only ran the beta a couple of days, but the logs were fine, broken down to days.
I don't know if I'm really opposed to it rotating daily as long as it keeps the logs from previous days.

Fold them if you get them!

Same problem, old log file ends on 23:59Z, new log file is never created. Had to pause and restart the client each morning. Reverted to V7 client for now...
Strangely enough, it did rolate succesfully for the first couple of days...

It looks like it's the good time to create a ticket for this issue : https://github.com/FoldingAtHome/fah-cl ... tet/issues

Maybe I just got lucky since I only ran the Beta for a couple of days, but good catch regardless.
