Problem with 7900 XTX on Arch

Hey,

I wanted to set up folding on my on my Arch (technically Arco) PC. The CPU (Ryzen 7900X3D) part works fine, but I can't get it to use my GPU. In total I have 3 GPUs in this PC: the integrated GPU of the CPU (I'd be fine with just disabling that), a GTX 1050ti that I use for VMs and that therefore has a virtual driver and is unavailable to the host system, and the 7900 XTX that I'd like to use.

FAHControl shows all three GPUs as it should, and shows the 1050Ti as disabled, which makes sense. However, both the iGPU and the 7900 XTX are shown as usable, download work, but then fail. They do that 10 times before they give up.

The log lines that stand out to me are

I have ocl-icd, opencl-mesa and opencl-amd installed. I also tried some other drivers and restarting the PC and the service a bunch, but with no success. I also saw suggestions of using a opencl-device = 1 setting but either I'm doing something wrong or it doesn't change anything at all.

I'm also using a linux-zen kernel which is why the slots are split up so much here I think, but I also tried the standard kernel and I have the same issues.

Hey there,

i had the same error "opencl-device was set but OpenCL platform could not be found".
This thread did solve my issue: viewtopic.php?p=358294

If you are using the fah client from the AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/foldingathome) the file paths may differ a bit:
/var/lib/fah/cores/cores.foldingathome.org/lin/64bit/22-0.0.20/Core_22.fah for the core
and
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 for the correct file
