His v7 is running the sse2 core a8.
I don’t think Joseph deployed any sse2 cores for v8

However all of the Celerons listed in the OP are capable of SSE 4.2. Was that ever deployed for A9? I recall that for A8 the choices were SSE 2, AVX-256, and AVX2-256.

Yeah, that is looking like a server issue, they either need compatible cores for WUs assigned to various levels of CPUs, or shouldn't assign when no core is available for the architecture.

Judging by the reply, it seems that there are fewer core options in the v8 beta and hence my older CPU is not supported in v8 while it is in v7. It also appears that this is something configured by FAH server. Is that correct?
