Like Jimbo, I have retired large swathes of hardware since I started folding roughly 20 years ago. The oldest GPU I still use for folding occasionally is a GTX 1050 Ti and I don't do CPU folding anymore as its not cost efficient. I run a single high end card for folding nowadays and use less energy by doing so.
Since I started out I have decommisioned maybe 30-40 cpus and 15 or so GPUs. It's just how it is.
