There might be where you are not understanding the issue. From the researcher's viewpoint the WS is assigning WUs, they are coming back and being accepted by the server, and they can work with the resulting data. So from that viewpoint the work is not done in vain.
What you are seeing is that the record of that completed WU is not getting to the stats database. That is a log file sent periodically to the database with entries for username "X", points "Y", and WU "Z". The actual data from the WU results remains on the server unless they move it for space or analysis reasons. The database is elsewhere than on that or other campuses, so it needs to be transferred through the campus firewall and acknowledgement that it has been received sent back through that firewall as well.
These stats log files are kept, so once they get the network connection to the database straightened out, the entries will eventually get updated. They do know there are problems with the current approach of entering these WU stats, and are looking at changing it in the near future.

Your folding of projects that have yet to show in the stats database is still advancing the projects and science ... If the science part of the system was broken then the server would be taken down ... It is simply a statistics reporting blockage that will at some point in the future be corrected and all you "missing" points will arrive (usually in a single large addition ... The WUs and the science continue regardless of the state of the statistics (as they should) - the limited developer effort tends to get focused first on keeping the science runnign smoothly and then on statistics issues and catch up ... The specific server you have referred to has a known statistics issue and this will be resolved at some point ... please note this may be weeks or even months - but in my experience (some 10k WUs) delayed statistics for WUs have always turned up eventually

Thank you, Neil-B and Joe_H!
That is good to know. If scientists can work with "my" WUs I am fine. The credit is not so important. However, that bit of gamification is what keeps many of us going, isn't it?
Cheers!

Think of it this way ... delayed stats are like the suspense of waiting for christmas for presents ... get nothing for ages then a whole sackful all at once ... Fold On

Yes, being patient is the only option you have.Der_mit_dem_Hund wrote:If the team cannot handle finished WUs I would assume - in order to avoid work in vain - they stopped distributing WU for a while, get things fixed, and start freshly when everything is in order.

I remain patient. What choice I have?
If the teaqm cannot handle finished WUs, they would stop distributing WUs. What we are trying to tell you is that there are two different issues here: Handling the scientific results and handling the credits (points).
The scientific results that are being uploaded ARE reaching their desired destination and the research is progressing. The credit records must be exported from the Work Server to be added to the points data base. The former is working; the latter is not so the points are simply delayed.

I have been having problems with 16927 for over a month now - at least 6 - 8 lengthy WU's completed with no points added - as long as I am being helpful, I don't really mind, but what's the point of points if they don't happen - none of these missing points have arrived later and it is only 16927 that is affected

Welcome to the forums .. this project has an ongoing known reported issue as detailed in numerous threads on these forums.
This type of stats issues can occur ... Once the issue is resolved points will catch up ... stats issues can take weeks or even months to resolve - this has been one if the more protracted cases recently ... rectifying stats issues is a lower priority than ensuring the science is progressing and so it is sometimes hard to get the limited dev effort to stretch far enough to sort such things quickly
