Running Folding at home on raspberry pi 3B
can't get it to start folding can any body help it just say's local connecting inactive

ok i can't do that it wont let me click on the log tab its all greyed out its my first running of folding at home on a raspberry pi

pretty sure in bruce's guide there's descriptions on the location of where the log files reside. You can then copy paste those here. I would assume Pi would use some sort of linux

Is there a FAHClient process running in the background? Use top, or whatever other system monitoring tool you prefer to check. That needs to be running for there to be a log that FAHControl would display.

Failing that, you can look at the commonly used folder paths to get the log file even if FAHClient isn't running. The assumption being that FAHClient ran at least once to have generated the log file. If no log file exists on your system, then it would be fair to say that FAHClient never started on your system.

FAHClient wont start automatically on your Pi.
No matter what you do, FAHControl also wont start FAHClient.

You may open a Terminal-Window and type in "FAHClient", that window should start some sort of log and short after that your FAHControl will tell you its connected.

I also noticed if FAHControl is running for a long time without a local connection it wont connect anymore.
So do the above after a new start to ensure it will work.
