I believe once requests are under consideration that are removed from the thread - I may be wrong but it appears that way.

Yes, that is what happens to the posts. I can look for the post, is there something in it I can send to you in a PM to reuse?Neil-B wrote:I believe once requests are under consideration that are removed from the thread - I may be wrong but it appears that way.

Sorry. I didn't see a TL;DR notation in your post. You effectively asked to join the beta team and you were accepted even though you didn't follow the instructions. carefully enough.

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
Windows, Radeon Rx 5700 XT, latest (non-beta) FAHClient (7.6.21), set client-type advanced on my GPU slot, still get
"WARNING:FS02:No CUDA or OpenCL 1.2+ support detected for GPU slot 02: gpu:3:0 Navi 10 [Radeon RX 5600 OEM/5600 XT / 5700/5700 XT]. Disabling."
I thought Core_22 was in Advanced now.

This may sound mad but if you are still having issues try installing cuda even though you have an amd card ... in a couple of cases under windows this for some strange reason has got amd cards folding

FYI, client-type advanced is no longer used so that option can be removed from all your clients.
FahCore_22 is in Full Public release, have been for a few weeks (maybe 1.5 months... sorry, lost track of time).

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
I don't currently have any functional AMD GPUs so I can't test this but I've been wondering if there's a bug in FAHClient .21 which searches for NVIDIA's OpenCL code. The message seems to be talking about the CUDA driver, so that's not the same thing.

Usually, if 18.04 is supported, 20.04 should be too.tedder wrote:Is anyone using the 5700XT on Ubuntu 19.10? AMD only ships support with 18.04.
19.10 will drop support soon, so better upgrade.
20.04 is lts. Stick with that one.

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
I tried installing CUDA (full), didn't work. Also, there was no nvcuda.dll (file FAH complains about when reporting my card on startup) under either of the CUDA install dirs, so I'm not sure this dll comes from nVidia.
I also tried the previous two or three FAH releases, didn't work.

AMD doesn't support CUDA.russell_heater wrote:I tried installing CUDA (full), didn't work. Also, there was no nvcuda.dll (file FAH complains about when reporting my card on startup) under either of the CUDA install dirs, so I'm not sure this dll comes from nVidia.

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
@meelee ... but in a couple of documented Win 10 cases installing cuda has resolved issues hence why people now try it ... it makes no sense - but it can work - maybe not for everything or everyone but it can !!!

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
CUDA is a proprietary software for Nvidia GPUs.
Articles up to 2020 are indicating this, so unless something has changed in the last few weeks to months, I'd say Nvidia cuda drivers do nothing to AMD GPUs.

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
Nothing has changed ... and as stated it makes no sense but experience (factual evidence) has shown that installing cuda can for some unfathomable reason help in some instances where amd cards have stopped working on win 10 setups ... so feel free to say it will do nothing - fact is it has done so for some !!! ... the real question is why or even how as these will probably help identify the cause of some of these issues.

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
What is being reported may indicate a bug in the GPU detection code of the latest version of the F@h client software. It appears to affect AMD GPU detection, some have reported installing CUDA gets their AMD GPU to then be detected by the client software and allow it to be configured for folding. At this point not enough reports to positively identify a bug, but the latest client version does have a new GPU detection and configuration section was compared to the prior release, 7.6.13.

Re: Radeon 5700 XT : support in beta testing (FahCore_22)
The question then is, if it's just a matter of detecting the GPU, or do they also affect the folding process?Joe_H wrote:What is being reported may indicate a bug in the GPU detection code of the latest version of the F@h client software. since GPUs are usually detected via OpenCL, I might think that installing CUDA, may have installed opencl as well?
