posting code scroll boxes

Post by MDCRL »

Stupid question - but how do I post to get the scroll box vs. it filling up an entire page of thread :?:

Thanks

When framing a post, highlight the text you want in the code box and Hit the Code button.

Thank You....

what does using the forum button do differently vs. manually wrapping around desired text ?

I noticed it is no different, but changes it to show as a scroll instead - just curious how that works... :)

:? I get the scroll boxes by typing the code tags manually :|

hmm.... I just tried it again -manually, and it worked this time
- the reason I asked is cuz I couldn't get it to work before
- I even made sure no typo's and such and all code was closed and correct - oh well works now - that's all that matters

Thanks again....

The code tags don't do anything unless you put something between them. Thats why there's no box in your first post.

I was just using that as an example - not trying to create 1 in 1st post
- referring to why I wasn't gettin a scroll in my other posts vs. just a big white box

- when I initially posted in GPU threads the other day - it would not create scroll...
just confused why it didn't at first when I manually entered the same code that the forum's "code" button inserted - I got a differrent result
- not to worry - it's not a problem - just curious if something else was inserted in the code that made it work

- it's working now so no worries - It's all good!

Is there a problem with the code tags, as none of them seem to be scrollable these days, but are displaying the full content (or is it a function of my browser?)?

Same here, IE6 at work but I'm not blaming the IT (I'm the IT) but the dumb programmers who cannot make the house web apps work with IE7.

At home, I see scrolling bars but at work, all I get is fat block of logs :(
