Hey Joe,
It is enough to remove beta from settings or I must fully shut down my ARM64 clients?

No it is not enough to remove flag ... as Joe_H made clear ... Turn Off you ARM client ... Please you may as well uninstall as the version you will have installed in an unstable beta which was never intended for use by anyone other than invited testers - if/when a public beta is announced it is likely to be a newer version.

As to beta flag, unless you are signed up to the beta team you shouldn't be using that on any clients.

I shutted all ARM clients down. Sorry if I caused any inconvenience.
BTW I would like to noticing you there are some Linux distributions for ARM based machines where this beta client has appeared and easy to install so maybe really there is not the best solution to publicate it on an URL where everybody could reach it if it is causing problems like you said.

Thanks for the heads up re the linux arm distros .. I am sure someone will let the team know .. and I guess using an openly accessible url to share pre public beta clients may well be reconsidered given the issues that have been caused !!

So my Ryzen 3400G has just started doing project 16810, which I see is the ARM beta project. Should it have?!

16810 is the new A8 CPU core project - see announcement page viewtopic.php?f=24&t=36051 ... It was the one the arm beta client usage was fowling up ... it is for Intel and AMD CPUs and now has a server flag to avoid assignments to arm clients being assigned to it.

My understanding is that the A8 core will be the one arm clients may use once they are stable and get to public beta (which is not yet).

Thanks for that Neil, understood. The new GROMACS 2020 core sounds promising!

From what I saw the first time it was released in beta it significantly improved throughput of my kit ... glad to see the 16810 an A8 back on release

A8 has multi thread issue and folding on ARM CPUs with one thread is no way. I hope PG and internal Beta Team will fix bugs because my SBCs are hungry :)

A8 multithreads fine on my xeons ... and the arm client is not yet public beta unless something has changed recently?

One of the important things that a beta test needs to demonstrate is whether the release candidate software should be issued to a limited subset of client. Based strictly on information reported here, it probably makes sense for FAH to refuse to distribute work assignments to specific hardware. Establishing the extents of that hardware subset is difficut when Development observes lots of errors but it can't tell which hardware is responsbile for the failures.

FAH requires a certain minimum performance level and WUs returned after the deadlines are routinely discarded. That wastes critical resources (both ours and yours) and we attempt to avoid that happening.

Wow, indeed, now I get a8 on my multithreaded x64 clients too,

If early beta testers needed for ARM64 platform, pls let me know.
