Has this been discussed...
adding image upload features like https://postimages.org/phpbb to the forum?
Having added a bunch of javascript to an embedded legacy version of phpBB, the results looked pretty nice.
Don't think postimage was available or I'd have used it then.
Here's a shot from my forum showing how a YouTube link thumbnails & CSS extensions that add the color coded bar & position, images get a similar treatment.
Apparently, postimage manages all the logistical issues.

Like adding the image above, it's a lot of work to get there.
Uploading to Flickr, generating the BBcode, copy & paste; it's primitive when compared to most popular social media.
In fact, the YouTube link shown above has zero BBcode, the javascript processes a raw link for video or images.

Re: Image upload extensions for phpBB?
The Forum is hosted on by volunteers. I am aware that there are plans to update it to a newer version but AFAIK, there's nothing on the plans to add image hosting since that requires a lot of space. Considering we have content on this forum that goes back 10+ years, that's a lot of images to handle. By the time you include the cost of hosting, maintaining, etc. it seems unfeasible. Thus, rather than going down that path, use dedicated image hosting sites and paste the links here. It's few clicks extra but given the current constraints, it works well.
Plus, the most helpful aspect is the log file which doesn't require any image. There are some occasions where an image is useful but that's the minority and there are plenty of free sites that can help out

Apparently, postimage hosts all the data...
of course, there are negatives about Social Media engagement too.

Social media has it's place, and FAH has sites there, too. Please use them.
This site is dedicated to FAH support and as has already been stated, support rarely benefits from the funny antics of your cat or you youngest child (or whatever).
