P13418 (224, 113, 0) - 23m ppd

Post by HaloJones »

My TitanX is getting a TPF of 17 seconds with this particular PRCG for an estimated PPD of 23m !

Can I have some more please?

Took half an hour for the whole unit for a credit of 452342 points

Hi, can confirm those "strange" high values with any GTX 1660, thanks guys, I really appreciate. But I guess that wasn't really purpose, or?

This is radical opposite to 13416, not in little, rather in a massive manner...

Cheers

I hit the jackpot with three of those in a row on my little GTX 1060's. It was nice while it lasted, but I suspect it was either a case of "Misadventures in Automatic Code Generation" and they were basically NOP's; or someone added an extra 0 on the end of the base credit by accident. Either way, that batch seems to have flushed out of the work servers, so Happy Birthday to whoever got some.

Hi folks,

We think there is either a bug in the work server code or how it is configured that led aws3.foldingathome.org to mess up the $home variable for where it looked for files when building new WU. This led to some very short WUs for small systems with very generous base points to be packaged and distributed in both new and old projects on the work server. I had to take down the work server for a bit and managed to scrub most of the the problematic WUs and implement a workaround, but congrats to those of you lucky enough to have come across these special little WUs. ;)

Please do let us know if you find a surge of these again or if the tail of occasional generous WUs isn't gone in 24h.

Monitored my gear and its logs, no "special generous" WU anymore after my post and your reaction here.

Cheers

Thankfully I got a few of those "generous" WUs, they kind of leveled those sitting duck 117xx WUs, my gear still constantly receives.

If I would think something evil, I would imagine, they got dropped / dumped in other gears by purpose and this series does therefor still exist ...
