How to set CPU and threads at FAHClient

Post by Ibringapples »

Hello,

I'd like to make it hard to a pc that I have for test.

It has this:

Code: Select all

Version: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4160 CPU @ 3.60GHz
	Core Count: 2
	Core Enabled: 2
	Thread Count: 4
So I'd like to set it.
Now the program found 4 cpu and they are running properly.

Does anyone can help me?

Thanka a lot.

Can you please post the log file so we can see what system you have and how the client is configured? If you require guidance, here's a topic that can help you: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26036

It looks from your log like you have a single CPU slot using all four threads available … Is that what you are wanting?

Your Intel i3-4160 is a dual core CPU and each core can run 2 threads giving a total of four threads - The FAH CPU slot is set to use all four threads

Hello,

$ watch -d -n 1 sensors # linux

is telling me:

Code: Select all

acpitz-acpi-0
Adapter: ACPI interface
temp1: +27.8°C (crit = +105.0°C)
temp2: +29.8°C (crit = +105.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 0: +74.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0: +74.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +73.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
I'd like to overclok it.

Do you have some clue to make it?

Many thanks :D

Re: How to set CPU and threads at FAHClient

Post by PantherX »

Please note that officially, F@H doesn't support overclocking as it may lead to incorrect data being produced by the system due to lack of stability. Generally speaking, on overclocked systems, a good number of them can't fold unless the overclock is reduced or removed.

Having said that, if you would like to overclock, please find a technology forum that deals with overclocking as this forum doesn't.

IMO, your CPU temperatures are in the mid 70s which is average, I won't overclock it at all unless the temperatures were in the mid 60s (if not lower) considering that overclocking increases heat and power usage.
