FAHControl Ubuntu 20.04 install issue

Based on the answer on github, it seems python3 is already in prerelease

That is just a fork from the official release, not a prerelease from F@h. That code may be merged back in, or only be part of the resulting official release. There is at least one other person who was working on FAHControl.

I've run into this problem also. I've splatted 20.04 on one of my two desktop machines to check out the new release. The good news is that the fahclient still runs okay and I've remoted it over to my other desktop which is still on 18.04, for control purposes. The viewer also works, which I was rather surprised to see, under the circumstances. Silver lining and all that.

If fah only had a single coder, the one that made boinctui, they could run a terminal based control window even on a headless OS.
Boinctui (terminal user interface), supports mouse and keyboard, and arrow keys.
It's graphics are asci based.

There is a published API to use with the F@h software, anyone who wants to can code their own replacement to FAHControl. And several have used that API for related monitoring apps, for example on iOS and Android.

As for a "single coder", that is basically what the F@h Consortium has. One person. There have been a number of volunteers come forward to assist in working on the software, details on volunteering were in the online chat a couple weeks ago.

I was having this issue on Ubuntu Server 20.04. For me installing gnome-software and installing the FAHclient through Software Center worked like a champ on the first install.
