Passkey question

Post by poppster »

I've been folding for years, but without a passkey...

When I enter a passkey, it resets my stats that I have gained over the years on the webclient.

Does adding a passkey reset all stats previously earned without a passkey?

It doesn't really reset anything. It simply creates a new stats account. The old stats without a passkey are still there. You just have to mentally combine the results or use a 3rd party stats report which combines them for you.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can the other clients run without a passkey if another client on a different pc has one setup? I get a LOT more points with a passkey, but I Have a lot of clients already running.

If you mean that one systems has the username/passkey combination while others just have the username. Then yes, you can run it like that.

You can also use the same username/passkey combination for all of your systems. Others choose to use a different usernames per system but with the same passkey to track individual system stats. All of them are valid, just remember that each combination of username/passkey must qualify for the QRB (Quick Return Bonus).

Or, basically WUs downloaded and processed on a system without a passkey entered will not get bonus points even if the username is the same.

Yes. It doesn't know what your passkey is, so it's showing all the points awarded to that user id. AFAIK, the only place you can see the points awarded to your specific user id AND passkey is in the web control.

The bonus page only shows wu count, not points earned.
