Welcome to the F@H Forum leseckersley,

I would suggest that you manually download the GPUs.txt file from here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt (right-click save as GPUs.txt)
Exit the client
Copy the GPUs.txt file from the Downloads folder to %AppData%\FAHClient
Reboot your system
Start up the client and ensure that you can see your GPU in the log file
Add a GPU slot from FAHControl -> Configure -> Slots tab -> Add -> GPU -> OK -> Save

Let me know if that works or not :)

It should be able to fold, it supports OpenCL 1.2 and has Double Precision floating point math.

You may wish to download GPU-Z and tell us the Name and Device ID of the GPU

Today I moved my GTX1080 to another computer with a fresh Windows 10 x64 installation, downloaded and installed the Folding@home client and entered my credentials.

It started working on a CPU task right away but there was nog GPU slot available, couldn't add a GPU slot too.
MSI Afterburner does see the GPU so it must be installed...

Tried everything, adding GPUs.txt by hand, new Nvidia drivers, old drivers, reïnstalled Folding, etc.

Just found out the client I downloaded wasn't the old v7.5.1 one but the recent v7.6.9 and realised that's the only difference with my old configuration.

So I grabbed an USB-stick, put v7.5.1 on it, moved it to the computer I couldn't get to fold, installed it... and it worked right away... GPU folding away!!!

Not sure what the issue is but there must be some kind of bug in the v7.6.9 (???)

If you can find 7.6.8, it works flawlessly. Quite why 7.6.9 is still available for download given all the problems it causes is beyond me.

On our own forum already 2 other users can't get their GPU's to work in v7.6.9

Luckily I was able to provide them with the v7.5.1 version.

Would still like to upgrade, so if anyone has a "fix" I would be glad to hear it :)

In my experience, the issue with 7.6.9 and GPUs appears only after a fresh installation. An upgrade from 7.5.1 can be done without problems.

On all my systems (6) I had to manually install the gpu slot after adding the gpu.txt. All were upgrade from 7.5.1...

Hello,
I can also confirm that after a fresh Windows10 and 7.6.9client install the GPU was not detected and downloading the GPUs.txt manually solved the problem.
System is:
Windows10 2004-Release Preview
AMD R9 290x GPU
