Welcome to the club. The second largest bottleneck in the current system is that actual human beings have to create and upload work. The obvious solution is to replace the humans with intelligent AIs.

If you will look at this graph, we have over 10 times as many people ready to fold as 4 weeks ago

That means that if they get 50% more servers running than we have today, it is possible they will be caught up.

In practice however, every day different news sources advertise F@H so it is unlikely they will get caught up any time soon.

Thank you for your detailed explanation, it is my 3rd day on folding.
Happy to know there is so many people willing to help and not my setting has problem.

Thank you for folding loksun14 and welcome to the forum. It was a perfectly valid question and not stupid. Please don't be afraid to ask more questions in the future; I would rather people ask repeat questions than for them to give up on folding in frustration.

Some of that can be resolved with some GUI and logic rewrites of the F@H Advanced Control client. The client is very technical and written for people who are familiar with folding. I think the Web Control was an attempt at simplifying, which it did. The problem is that the web interface gives no control. It's just a display.

Adjusting the Advanced Control GUI so that it helps users easily diagnose the problem will reduce having to answer with "it's the servers, there aren't enough work units" when your time could be better spent helping users troubleshoot why their GPU is spitting out bad work units or won't pick up work units because it's configured incorrectly.

I noticed that you have this in your latest configuration:
16:58:32: <pause-on-battery v='false'/>

If you're folding on a laptop, I would recommend that you set it to the default (true) since folding is very intensive and can drain the laptop's battery very quickly. Please note that in future, it would be nice to see the first ~100 lines from your log file as it shows what system configuration the client has detected.

A modern GUI might be helpful in common cases. However, the issue is that there's a single developer who is responsible for the F@H Client (WIndows. Linux, macOS), F@H Servers (Assignment Servers, Work Servers, Collection Servers) and also FahCores (that perform the folding on your system). Add to that the the developer is a contractor (meaning he's also got to look after other projects too) which means that it will always be an up-hill battle. The F@H Team have a very limited budget and they decisions are based on scientific basis, i.e. will doing X increase science by Y. If not, then it goes into the backlog.
