Based on what are points assigned?

Post by Caty »

Hi,
I've been folding since december 2019 and would get a few thousand points per WU. Now I'm getting less points that before so I'm wondering based on what points are credited :?
Here are a few examples:

Code: Select all

WU00:FS01:Final credit estimate, 1997.00 points
related to WU00:FS01:0xa7:Project: 16406 (Run 712, Clone 3, Gen 39)

Code: Select all

WU00:FS01:Final credit estimate, 1715.00 points
related to WU00:FS01:0xa7:Project: 14590 (Run 257, Clone 1, Gen 3)

Code: Select all

15:40:47:WU00:FS01:Final credit estimate, 1994.00 points
related to WU00:FS01:0xa7:Project: 13870 (Run 0, Clone 3288, Gen 30)
and so on.

Does my hardware have a problem?

I am getting fewer PPD, not because each WU is worth less, but because I am getting fewer WUs. The servers are getting better each day, but I am not back to full points.

Points are based on the size of the protein system and how long it takes to process. They benchmark new projects on systems and compare processing time against previous standard projects. So if it takes twice as long, the new project gets twice the base points, half the time, then half the points

Alright, now I understand. I'm using a common laptop so it's not very fast. It takes something like 4 hours in "Light power" to fold a 250'000 steps WU.
