Constant reloading

Post by Domadea »

Folding was working at first for me but I wanted to change some settings really quick then I was just gonna let it run, now it won't properly load and just keeps reloading and reloading. So as of now, I can't do any more research which is a bummer as I had just started, but apparently stopping it once crashed the system as I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times now and I can't seem to get it to work again.

Even with the web control constantly reloading, your client will still do work.

There's actually a process named FAHClient running that does the work, if you're on Windows you'll see a little molecule icon in the Windows system tray.
The web UI is just trying to display data it is trying to pull from FAHClient.

The behaviour you are experiencing is allegedly due to a change/bug in Chrome/Chrome-based browsers. Try a different browser, or use Private Browsing, or follow the guidance on bypassing the browser cache in FAQ #7 on viewtopic.php?f=24&t=32463.
Alternatively, you could start FAHControl for a less modern, but more reliable UI (start menu or right-click on the tray icon, select "Advanced Control")

When it keeps reloading, just press F12 or ctrl shift I and then right-click the reload button, and press clear cache and hard reload. You can get software which automatically does it when you press a key like remouse.
