Two machines, only one gets work

I have two machines

1. 12x Opteron CPU cores, no GPU to speak of. Its always busy with CPU WUs, ranges from 3k to 10K ppd.

2. Asus gaming laptop with a GTX 1060 mobile. Has never received work. just sits Ready.

I can supply logs from either.

My quest is to get the Asus laptop to fold. I've tried reinstalling the software as well as rebooting.

Last night I tried transplanting the cores folder from the successful machine. I just removed it 5 min ago before capturing the log.

I connected the non-folder to the same wired network the folder was on, and disabled the local fw and AV, no improvement. I've restored the fw and AV.

If downloading the FahCore_a7 is the only issue, what you can do is to copy that FahCore from the folding system to the non-folding system. When you're copying the FahCore, ensure that neither systems are folding just in case. Also, the folder structure should be identical.

On the system that currently folds, I would first ensure that the directory is present (your folder path will have your username):
C:\Users\PantherX-H\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores\cores.foldingathome.org\Win32\AMD64\AVX\Core_a7.fah

If it does, I would then copy all contents from here:
C:\Users\PantherX-H\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores

That way, everything would be same.

I did that earlier and it did not enable folding, actually. It's in the fourth post in this thread. However I'll try it again and post the log here.

Sorry, I forgot about it. The log that you posted in the fifth post was still trying to download the FahCore. I would be keen to see a fresh set of logs once you have transplanted the cores folder in the correction directory.

nvm it started folding, but fahcontrol wasn't registering the activity, so I rebooted without exiting the fahclient. Now its trying to recover, and saying that it crashed.

OK she's running full steam ahead now. Even the blasted gpu. It's the first gpu I've had folding in my life. Pardon me a moment while I dab my eyes.
