Problems at WU termination

When I check my completed WU's at https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu , it only indicates the very first WU I finished, and the two I did after that one do not appear.

When I check the log file, for each WU, this is what I find:

1/ This one has completed seveal days ago, but is not credited on my account

Here the WU has completed but it seems it all crashed.I don't even get the WORK_ACK line, it looks like I ran the machine for several days for nothing

Is your CPU overclocked? The third WU was likely corrupt and therefore dumped.

Hi Jorgeminator,

No I haven't overclocked the CPU. For the thirs task at some point, to speed the work, I went to FAHControl, and instead of choosing -1 for CPU, I put it to 4. Is it what you call overclocking? I didn't change anything in the laptop itself, only (temporarily) in FAHControl, because today I need my laptop for work so wouldn't be able to do any folding, so wanted to complete the WU before that.

Any idea of what could have happened?
When I connect to my workplace, I usually must activate the company VPN, could it be the cause of the problem?
Also any idea why only one out of the two other WU are counted in the stats?

Several possibilities. First is if one of the files that gets packed up with the WU results to be sent in was corrupted, possibly by an antivirus scan modifying it. That has been seen in the past, random data in the file happens to match a signature on a scan.

Another is a network transmission error between your system and the server.

Finally is a bad setting on the CS or WS that causes the WU to be rejected. This is harder to track down, we do watch for patterns of specific servers rejecting WUs from specific projects and request the persons running those projects to check when we see this happen.

Setting the CPU thread count to a different value should not cause a problem. Overclocking refers to the practice of some enthusiasts to increase the clock speed of their CPU or GPU to above standard. For example, a CPU is rated to run at 3 GHz, they may overclock it with extra cooling to run at 3.5 GHz.

Oh I see...That would give a reason of why the job 3/ gets wrong.


Any idea why the job 1/ does not appears in my stat? That one seems to have completed properly, and it's almost a week now.

Checking on the first one does show it recored in the database:

That may be base credit, I did not look up the project.
