Not sure I'm doing it right
I am new to this process and have decided to help out. I have a very good gaming PC and wanted to put my rig to good use, but I didn't like what this was doing to my processor. I monitor my temps closely at all times and several times this program has shot my CPU temps up to 100 degrees celsius, even with "light" mode selected. That is way too hot, I am not going to risk damaging my hardware. I went into options and think I found a fix. I deleted the CPU part of this, so it just focuses on my GPU (which is what I want). My main question is, is that the browser that is open along with this program is constantly "flickering" every couple seconds, it flickers and looks like it's "refreshing" the page or something, but there is never anything different about the information on the page. It stays looking the exact same way, it doesn't give me updated information. Am I doing something wrong here? I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly.

I believe the constant-refresh thing of the browser has been identified as browser-specific. I have no issue with Firefox on Windows nor Linux. Perhaps you can try if this also happens using a different browser? I.e., Chrome rather than Edge, or Firefox rather than Chrome, or...
However, what I feel is more relevant to comment on here is that you should check/reinstall your CPU fan/cooler or apply/reapply thermal paste, or dust the system out, or... because F@H is not special in any other sense than potentially loading your CPU up to 100%. If that in your case means 100 degrees it also does in other heavy-load circumstances and just means you have a hardware issue you really need to take care of.

7. How to fix Web control error ?
For: Google Chrome and some Chromium based browsers,
To fix web control,
Hit f12 on browser to enter dev mode,
right click on refresh button and hard reload.
Also try Incognito mode or clear cache.
Firefox is not affected by this bug

That's the weird thing. My rig checks out in every other aspect. Gaming, overclock testing, stress tests, everything runs perfectly fine, with safe temps even under full load, but this program. I'm liquid-cooled with plenty of space and air circulation in my case. I guess this is kind of irrelevant anyway because I didn't want to compute using my CPU anyway, just my GPU. I will try swapping to Firefox for the browser thing.Yujah wrote:I believe the constant-refresh thing of the browser has been identified as browser-specific. Mmm. Interesting. Maybe I should've have not been so fast calling F@H "not special" then. Come to think of it I do suppose its WUs will be much more floating-point hence FPU-oriented than most any other task on a desktop. Could supposedly be a relevant difference, possibly in a CPU-specific sense as to temperature.lespaul678 wrote: That's the weird thing. My rig checks out in every other aspect. Anyways. I see you're someone who is him- or herself aware enough of cooling/cleaning so never mind. Wanted to comment in case you'd be someone prone to burning out your CPU...
