server optimization?

does the server have a way of prioritizing computers based of raw processing power from computers on standby? (I've got an absurdly powerful PC but, I've been mostly on standby, for the most part my computers just waiting on WU's)

No, the servers will serve whichever computer asks. However, ATM the system is stressed by the vastly increased workload, and cannot serve all the requests.
My guess is that any attempt to prioritise clients would add more server processing and thus make things worse.
I'm afraid the only solution is patience -- the issues are being addressed.
