Folding local client flashing screen

Post by Forlis »

Hello,

I downloaded newest Folding Home for windows installation (installed with Express Install), then Allow in Firewall, and after opening in web control I got this screen:

1. https://prnt.sc/rihw6u - it is still flashing (each 3 sec) and in the right bottom of the screen there are: Waiting for 127.0.0.1.
2. After opening the Advanced Control I got this error: https://prnt.sc/rihxso

What should be the problem? I run the application as a admin.

Thanks :)

2) FAHClient maintains a local database of some of the things that it has seen ... like the estimated time to complete Project XXX on slot N. If it can't open that database, someething is wrong locally. I would reboot.

1) Are you using Google Chrome for your browser? If so, run FAHClient on a different browser. There's a known problem.

1 and 2) webcontrol should not have to wait for 127.0.0.1 That's a loopback adapter to your own machine where various components of the downloaded software talk to each other. If you happen to have telnet installed on your machine (you can download it from Microsoft, but you'll rarely use it), you can attempt to connect to your FAHClient on "127.0.0.1 36330" and the error message might tell us something, but you do need to restart your computer to straighten it out.

You shouldn't need to run the application as admin. Do you have an antivirus or similar security software that could prevent the software from opening the database file? Is there any change if you repeat the install and choose the "custom" install option?

But i got this error after 8 attempts: No WUs available for this configuration

Is this because I have low end PC, or?

This is an error that many people are experiencing at the moment. The servers are flooded due to the massive amount of new users running F@h, driven here by news articles and tweets from Intel and Nvidia. The research teams are currently setting up new servers and adding more work to the queue. Just keep everything running and it should pick up work when its available.
