Hello,
I am new and installed F@H yesterday. When i try to open the page https:// client.foldingathome. org/ in chrome it loads super quick but then every ~1-2 sec it reloads before I can change identity, change supported research, power use etc. If I try chrome incognito it does the same thing. If I try in Safari it takes the full 30 sec to connect but then says:
"Client Connection Timed Out
Your browser was unable to connect to a Folding@home client running on your computer.
1. Install the Folding@home client.
2. Make sure you Folding@home client is running.
3. Reload this page."
I reload the page and same thing. If I open the FAHControl it says local Online with an IP address and lots of other info that all looks 'right'. If I open the FAHViewer sometimes it is working on things and giving me lots of snapshots and neat graphics etc. Having these 2 open does not affect the issue above.
Any suggestions or help?
Thank you

Stable?: Try a few stability testing programs if you think that FaH is crashing your computer. It may be that your PC is just unstable overall.

Re: Client Connection Timed Out
On my Mac, changing the URL to use http instead of https will get the Web Control to load in Safari. Sometimes takes a refresh. This is on Safari 12.1.2 on Sierra, don't know if it still will work that way on later versions.
Firefox has worked for me in the past, and others report it working for them recently.

Re: Client Connection Timed Out
Thank you Joe. The http trick worked on Safari and I hadn't checked Firefox but it is working there as well. Still not working on Chrome but at least I know everything in the background is actually working... presumably?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Re: Client Connection Timed Out
For chrome, you can use Incognito that and it will work

Update:
The trick you gave me worked, but is not longer working? It doesn't matter which browser (chrome, safari, Firefox) I try they all just timeout after 30 sec. If I reload it does the same thing. I restarted browsers, rebooted my computer, and still nothing. Any other ideas?
