Old passkey/old username

Post by ovidiuc »

Hey,

I've started using F@H again after a looot of time and I have tried to create a new passkey but I did not receive the e-mail since yesterday. As far as I understand it's due to the influx of new people starting to use this for COVID-19.
But that is not why I am here, I actually have found my super old passkey in my e-mail and it was registered with a different name than now. So my question is:
- is it ok to use this passkey with my current username or should I wait for the new passkey?
- is there a problem if I change the username from the one originally used with this passkey?

I also have another question regarding the points system. I initially did some WOs and earned some points with this username but without any passkey and no team (team was 0). Then I changed the Team and eventually added my old passkey. Out of sheer curiosity, not important at all, will all the points end up on this new usename/in the new assigned team and on the new passkey or everything that was generated before is lost?

Thank you,
Ovi

Yes, it is okay to use your old passkey. It will just take working on and turning in 10 WU's before the username/passkey pair is qualified for the QRB. Basically the same as if you used a new passkey.

With the new username, a search on just that will show all users who have used that name. If it is unique, then you will see entries for it with the default team 0, and the the team you added, and those points will just be yours, if not unique the total will be for all including you.

Basically points are not lost, just can be harder to determine which are yours alone without the passkey. The Web Control stats check when it works uses both the username and passkey on its search, so some points may not show up if a passkey had not been used.

Sweet thank you for the answers! I wish there was a way to aggregate everything under a name/passkey but it's fine, not that important overall.
