Parts of F@H are overloaded with the enormous response to several social media references. The team are working on adding additional resources, please be patient. Just consider what it's like for the researchers who are generating many times more work than a week ago.

Thanks for that response. It solves my query.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to when the researchers can sit back and have a coffee - and I can start Folding again!

It may be a coicidence, but following the advice of Joe_H made a while since, I did the following:
First, pause folding. Then go to the Library folder on the Mac's drive. Open the Application Support folder, and then open the FAHClient folder that is there. Drag the cores folder to the Trash, you will be prompted for an Admin password to complete moving the folder.

Resume folding
And, lo and behold, not long after I got another unit, ref 14328 (0, 4559, 6) a Covid-19 unit, and am back Folding again!

Can you post the full log? We need more info to determine what is going wrong. I doubt that it is pure overload in this case.
This is a different issue, I've flagged it for mods to move to a new topic somewhere more appropriate. You may need to search for your own posts to find it later.

Don't take my word for it for I am merely an uneducated user - but would the solution in my post of Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:12 pm above help? It's a macOS solution, but I'm pretty sure there will be a similar move on other platforms.

it would remove the "Cores" folder (if that is what's causing the header misread) and force a re-download (I think - Caveat Emptor!). it might be worth a try and you could always move the deleted Folder back into it's original location if it doesn't work.

there's no "cores" folder, folder security is set to "everyone" full control, im using the local administrator of the server, the firewall is disabled and the hardware firewall is allowing all the ports and port mapping is enabled... i can ping and reach fah pages to download the core, i've downloaded it manually and it works... but attemps are at 0, the full log is this:

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue on 2 machines, one a Windows desktop and the other a Linux VM

I could solve it with the following steps:
On: https://client.foldingathome.org/
- Power back to medium
- "When": I moved in to "Only when idle"
Stop folding
Start folding

Then back to "while I am working"
After that it worked me. And I moved the power to back to Full.

I don't know the reason, I used this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Folding/commen ... _on_ready/

BTW, only the GPU is working, CPU doesn't do anything. So it can be only luck...

From other reports, some firewalls block the type of request being used to get the assignment ID. Your client needs that to be assigned work. A workaround someone posted ping'd those two addresses as assign1.foldingathome.org and assign2.foldingathome.org and see if that helps your client get an ID.
