'credit points' and 'score'

Post by Scybi »

Back @folding ...

What's the difference between 'credit points' and 'score' :?: The previous WU added me some 3000 to the total score. According to the Logfile I had expected 11k.
:?:

Extracted from Logfile:
Final credit estimate, 11045.00 points

Donor: Scybi
Date of last Work Unit 2020-03-10 22:21:49
Total score 82,436
Total WUs 344

I think I see what your meant ...

"Final credit estimate, 11045.00 points" indicates that you have successfully returned the WU and that you have a passkey entered in your client, so that the work server thinks that you got the Quick Return Bonus.

If you get less points added to your total score, it's probably because although you have a passkey, it is not yet qualified for QRB : you need to complete at least 10 WUs with this passkey to start earning the bonus, and then maintain the success completion rate above 80% to stay eligible to QRB.

I am going to mention one difference, it may not be the right reason, but I am guessing based on your post.

You get a Base Score, and a Quick Return Bonus. You need a Passkey to get the QRB, and once you have the Passkey, you need to complete 10 Work Units, and to maintain a 80% successful completion rate.

However, the Client has no (easy) way to know how many WUs you have returned or what your successful completion rate is. So it always assumes you are eligible. The servers do know you history and they award the Points. So if you are 'new' to Folding, or your hardware is unstable, you may not be getting the QRB the client is estimating you got.

If you do find hardware issues, give us Logs including the first 200 lines that tell about your computer and software.

Lets hope you just need a few more WUs.

(If you are on dial up, there can be a difference between when you finish and when the results are uploaded, so you get a lower QRB. Lets hope you are not on dial up.)

I just checked your username Scybi for its bonus status. It lists that you have completed 10 WU's with a passkey, the next WU you return should get the QRB and be close to the estimate shown in the log.
