fah-web server is slow
Hello,
I do not know where to put this request but I have a problem using fah-web2.stanford.edu server to create the Team 51 statistics.
Do you know if there are some problems on this server at this moment?
Thanks in advance to help me on this issue.

Hello,
I do not know if it is here to post this message but I cannot find exactly where to put this.
But it is a server so...
I experience some problems with fah-web2 server.
I use it to fetch some information to create a site for the team 51 (Alliance Francophone), and it is very slow to display informations.
Do you know if there is a problem on this server, at this moment?

Re: Problem with the server fah-web2
Welcome to the folding support forum.
There does not seem to be any speed issues with the Stanford sites when accessed from here in N. America, but I did see a report elsewhere from a forum mod in Europe of problems getting to the folding servers and getting an assignment. This could be a repeat of routing issues seen occasionally in the past for folders in Europe. Can you post a traceroute to the Stanford server?
Also, what link are you using to fetch the team information? The usual ones that are not on folding.stanford.edu go to fah-web, not fah-web2.

Re: Problem with the server fah-web2
That location is also duplicated on fah-web. These team reports are still being generated, but have been deprecated in favor of the API - http://folding.stanford.edu/stats/api.

Re: Problem with the server fah-web2
Hello,
Yes, but the API returns only about 8000 folders but we are 19196 at least. I would have to had everybody, not only ones who fold.
And I prefer text based file than json. It is an old Perl code to manage these results.
The server fah-web and fah-web2 are names to the same server in fact so no worry for me to use fah-web2 instead of fah-web.
Thanks.

Re: Problem with the server fah-web2
They used to be separate servers, I missed the merge.
You are welcome to use the text based files as long as they are produced, but posted the new API location for you and anyone else who reads this topic to see. As for the 19,000+ folders, all but a few hundred are inactive and their results are static. Once read the WU and points data for them is not going to need to be updated.

Re: Problem with the server fah-web2
Certainly,
but we are trying to move forward knocking the inactive folders' door to have them to fold again.
And in the database we have, they are still inside and if they come back, then our soft can tell if it is a new comer or an old folder who retrieve the way to fold
Thanks.
