Sorry. This can't be supported yet.

1) The GPU hardware has not been released yet
2) It requires CUDA 9.0 which has not been released -- and there are known changes that are still needed.
3) OpenMM cannot support CUDA 9.0 yet -- and there are known changes that are still needed.
4) FAHCore_21 will need to be updated to use whatever version of OpenMM eventually supports CUDA 9.0 or OpenMM built on top of CUDA 9.0.

We appreciate your desire to use pre-release hardware and software, but this is a production application that won't be able to back out whatever errors might be introduced due to you using pre-release code or hardware.

I think you're wrong Bruce : Volta can run OpenCL ... if the drivers support the GPU, it will work. FahCore_21 should work on any OpenCL compatible hardware ...

And CUDA 9 is already in the current drivers ... nvcuda.dll from my 385.41 drivers is labelled as NVIDIA CUDA 9.0.163 driver. And OpenCL is reported as Platform Version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA 9.0.163 ...

And I think 84036980 has access to expensive/professional hardware and software and will help to debug them since his posts are coming from IPs belonging to Supermicro and nVidia ...

No, that was an announcement by nVidia of the cards and that they were going to be available for sale later in the year. I can not find any pricing or other information that the V100 is on sale yet.

Well, (s)he is either working for a hardware vendor or reseller, since volta runs opencl why not get the device id added and lets see what happens? If the core doesn't like the hardware it won't run, will it?

Again, an indication that the card will ship sometime in the future. The order form states the following:
When ordering DGX with V100, you can choose between getting DGX-1 with P100 now and receiving an upgrade to V100 as soon it’s available, or getting a DGX with V100 when it starts shipping.
It does not list a shipping date, nor that the V100 is currently available. All it is showing is that they are accepting advance orders, and for a preconfigured system containing 8 cards. It also does not list when single cards would be released for sale.

Best case is it doesn't like the driver and hardware is that the folding core does not run. Worst case is that with pre-release drivers and hardware it runs, but returns WU's with errors, and those errors do not get detected.

Maybe Nvidia would send Stanford one NVidia Tesla for testing?

@84036980: Maybe you can run FahBench to see if that works on Nvidia Tesla?
