1.1 Million PPD.
This might have to be my next upgrade .... $699 on Newegg.

Re: GTX 1080 Ti
Additionally it has now dropped down to approx. 73% power, but no drop in core clock or usage:
Hopefully just a GPUs.txt issue, but maybe a driver issue too?

Re: GTX 1080 Ti
Until FAH is folding correctly and I am showing 2 GPU's in this machine what can you say is true:
GTX 1080 Ti : GTX Titan X Pascal?
1.4m : 1.2m

Re: GTX 1080 Ti
I guess this difference is only cause of slower or faster projects.
Is your Titan X Pascal overclocked to 2 Ghz too?

Re: GTX 1080 Ti
Both cards have an overclock to just over 2GHz.
Woke up this morning to the windows pc crashed, so dropped the overclock to +210

New GTX 1080 Ti folds as misdetected GTX 980 Ti
[First of all I have to apologise for my english isn´t fully correct, because I´m a german]
My problem is this:
Since yesterday I own a GTX 1080 Ti and as I´m an engaged and faithful Folding@home Donor (runningdodo Team: Rechenkraft) , the first action after mountig it had been engaging it in our DC project.
My previous card, a watercooled GTX 980 Ti went to the second PCIe-slot, because I anticipated, that perhaps there could possibly occur problems with the new card.
1.) The first issue, i want to report: The GTX 1080 Ti engaged in folding, but it had been wrongly indicated as "GTX 980 Ti" in FAH Advanced control panel .
In addition, it was not possible to cofigurate a second GPU-Slot in order to get the GTX 980 Ti engage in folding simulaniously. Error message: "On client "local" 127.0.0.1 GPU 1 not found".
2.) Second issue: I then removed the GTX 980 Ti from my PC. Only the GTX 1080 Ti remained in the first PCIe slot.
Result: FAH Control didn´t allow to cofigurate a GPU-slot at all. Error message:"On client "local" 127.0.0.1 No available GPUs".
Uninstalling and reinstalling the F@H 7.4.4 software didn´t change anything, not even after having removed the GPU config.xml file.
The only solution to me was to re-mount the GTX 980 Ti in the second PCIe-Slot, what leaded to the situation as described under 1.)
Is the GTX 1080 Ti card too new for folding and as that not yet fully supproted by F@H?
Can I do anything to get either having only the GTX 1080 Ti in my system or to get both graphic card folding?

Here is a very similar thread viewtopic.php?f=83&t=29785
I encouraged him to report the ID of the new card to 7im, but there is no sign he ever did.
You may wish to get the ID and message 7im.

Thank You JimboPalmer -- at least I´m not alone thit this kind of problems.
My 1080 Ti´s ID ist the same as scorpuk posted in the thread you linked: 10DE 1B06 - 10DE 120F.

Technically, the 10DE indicates that it's an NVidia GPU and the second number indicates exactly which model. That means that 1B06 and 120F are different versions of the 1080 Ti. (I have not researched what the difference might be.) His 1080 Ti is a 1B06 as evidenced by the second number in GPU-Z. For comparison, there are three models of 1070.runningdodo wrote:My 1080 Ti´s ID ist the same as scorpuk posted in the thread you linked: 10DE 1B06 - 10DE 120F.
0x10de:0x1b81:2:5:GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070]
0x10de:0x1ba1:2:5:GP104M [GeForce GTX 1070]
0x10de:0x1be1:2:5:GP104M [GeForce GTX 1070]
It seems likely that there is a third member of the 1080 Ti family.
Your earlier questions: Once GPUs.txt is updated to include your model and it's downloaded by your client, you'll be able to add it. As far as being mis-detected, FAH assigns the same projects to similar devices so it seems that it doesn't really matter which one is in use. i.e. - As far as FAH is concerned, the GTX 980 Ti and the 1080 Ti are functionally equivalent (except for speed).

Re: New GTX 1080 Ti folds as misdetected GTX 980 Ti
Many thanks for your quick and precious answers.
In GPU-Z is idicated both:
The tooltip suggests, that "10DE 1B06" is the PCI vendor and "10DE 120F" stands for the device ID.
Seems to me, that scorpuk has exactly the same, as his Indicatios are equal to mine.
Anyway, I understood that the reason for the problem ist not on my side and that I just have to wait, until the F@H-software engeneers update the GPUs.txt.

Re: New GTX 1080 Ti folds as misdetected GTX 980 Ti
From the fahclient --lspci output that scorpuk posted, the device ID is "10DE 1B06" for the GPU itself. I am not familiar enough with the GPU-Z output to interpret the range of ID's listed, but another part of its display does list the 1B06 number as being the GPU. The additional ID's may be for separate components on the video card such as an audio controller.

Okay, thank god, that there are experts -- I´m only a amateur user....
But I´m full of trust that the problem will get solved!

Re: GTX 1080 Ti
Recommend to not go over 2000 Mhz then you have enough Mhz room so the PC does not crash tomorrow, next week or next month.
2050 Mhz vs 2000 Mhz is only 2.5% difference.

Using lspci is a dependable way of determining it, but in GPU-Z on the left you'll see GPU (second line down) with the value 1B06.
