Stats definitely down - perhaps the server decided it needed a break at Christmas as well

(Might be worth one of the Stanford team posting in Vijay's blog to indicate to others that there is a Stats server issue, as the last message in the blog (from the 8th Dec) currently says 'Stats back online'!)

Should we start a book on whether it'll be back up this week, after Xmas or not until New Year?

My stats system is still pulling flat files, which means the Time/Date stamp is being updated, but the actual data was last changed on the 1pm EST update yesterday. It's been the same data in each successive file since, which indicates that the process that pushes the new results into the flat file is what's down, not the server itself or the publication process.

Just my two cents based on what I'm seeing.

I have sent a message to the PG members responsible for issues with the stats system. With the upcoming holiday and Stanford not being in session, it may take a while.

Hey everyone, Thanks for the reports and the emails! Defintely appreciate the heads up. Our stats server is definitely down, and I have contacted our sys admins to resolve the issue. Hopefully, it should be done fast.

With the upcoming holiday and Stanford not being in session, it may take a while.

Statistically the stats server outages correlates very well with any given event of extended holiday/long weekend. So it behaves as usual. On the positive side: Santa will leave us a huge credit postings once he fixed it.

Beginning to wonder if someone doesn't pull the plug on the stats server just for those purposes (extended holiday weekends).

Of course. The lab is short of mains sockets, the server HAS to be unplugged to run the Christmas lights.

Just as an FYI - Saturday January 21st, 1pm EST, the Flat file appears to have stopped updating at that update.

The time stamp is being updated as that's how my system knows to pull the next hourly update, but data has frozen as of the 1pm update.

Thanks for the quick notice everyone, the stats machine has randomly gone offline. i have notified the IT department but we might not see anything concrete until monday. Sorry about the inconvenience.
