Information on the number of CPU's configured as part of your system's request and whether set to Full or Advanced would be useful in determining which WS is out. Also, what OS and version of the folding client. This also might be related to the issue being looked into here - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=28169&p=280561#p280561.
I have not seen any error messages of that sort. Most recent empty assignment error was two hours ago and named both these addresses. 171.67.108.204:80 & 171.67.108.45:8080 and resolved in 20 minutes. GPU projects are not affected.
All my installations are 7.4.4, Windows 10, no flags, SMP set to 4 cores and have been running for months.

The two AS addresses that you see in those messages are not the source of the problem. They have no WU's, but the message is indicating that no suitable WS with projects matching your systems' configurations could be found with available work at that moment in time. As toTOW has written, a WS has been taken offline to fix a problem and that has reduced the number and kinds of WU's available for CPU assignments.

Thank you guys for the responses, I believe I now understand the full ramifications of that errant server. Hopefully it didn't make too big a mess of all those projects for you guys

Right. The Assignment Server does not assign WUs, it establishes a connection between your client and a Work Server that has WUs for you. The message "Empty work server assignment" is saying "I can't assign you to any work server which has WUs for you."
The problem is that in order to fix the issue described here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=28169, I need to stop assigning WUs from my work server. The consequence of that is that this is causing a big shortage of CPU WUs because I provide most of them. I'm working on a fix and will post an update once we're back online.
So I believe I've gotten to the bottom of the previous error, so I can assign CPUs again. You guys should be getting new jobs soon. Sorry for all the issues, and thanks for the heads up!
