Genetic diseases are not uncommon across multiple groups. Tay-sachs happens to be limited, but includes French Canadians. Cystic Fibrosis is world wide and not limited to specific ethnic groups. 1 in every 100 people in the US is a carrier for the recessive gene causing Gaucher's disease.
