I will format my desktop soon but I'm afraid of loosing my points and profile...
I have my passkey and this forum account is it enough or do I need something else to restart?

Your points are associated with your username and passkey, and stored on the Stats database. So as long as you use the same username and passkey, any points earned after reinstalling your system will go to the same account. If you don't still have your email that was sent to you with your passkey, you can recover it by using the same username and email address on the passkey request form - http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py. Or, keep a copy of the config.xml file from your F@H data directory. That file includes your passkey in plain text and the rest of your settings.
Since you are wiping the system, do use the Finish function from FAHControl first to finish up any current WU's. That will cause the client to stop after completing the WU and not download another.
