if you should compare gtx 980 to a Tesla what would be the best for folding? I might be given eighter a Tesla k40 or 2 gtx 980!

2x GTX980 is better. FAH doesn't have any use for FP64 performance, not to mention that K40 is based on Kepler architecture.
