Client not folding during Idle Time.

Post by Konan »

I have installed client 7.4.4 on 4 different machines. Two at home and two at work. The client will not activate on idle time. I have let the machines sit overnight and when I come to check them in the morning they are sitting right where I left them the night before. They did no folding. For my two machines at home it is no issue I just let it run all the time. But the two at work are not blazing machines by any means. When the gpu kicks in you cannot move the mouse around the screen let alone do any work. So on my work machine I turn the gpu off while I work and turn it back on when I go home at night. But no one in the office wants it on their machine if they have to manually turn it off and on every morning and night. I let the cpu run all the time the problem only is when the gpu is active. All machines are running windows 7 and are using the standard bubble screen saver.
My question is what would be keeping the machines from folding while the screen saver is active, because to me that is idle time? If I can get the "fold on idle time" to work I am sure I would be able to get another 5 machines here at work to fold. I really like the appeal of helping science move forward.

Thanks
Joel

Hello Konan, welcome to the folding forum.

In Windows, the On Idle folding starts when the Monitor goes in to power saver mode. No saver mode, no folding.

Awesome. I will definitely try that because our monitors never go into sleep mode. The one computer has no mouse it is run by touch screen so I will not be able to have that one go into power save mode but the others I can change.

Thanks
