Points earned for GPU WUs

Post by SGM26 »

Hello, I'm relatively new here so if this is the wrong place to post this I'm sorry.

On the web view of the FAH client for the two GPU WUs I currently have (as well as previous GPU WUs) it gives me an estimated points value in the tens of thousands (32,659 for example) however when those WUs are completed I'm only getting about 1-2% of that estimated value. The same applies for the CPU WUs (an estimated 3,000 for example only returns about 10% of that),

Are the estimations incorrect or am I missing points?

Please see the estimated points in the red squares - http://i.imgur.com/cldH9M6.png - Sorry for the large image, I'm taking screenshots on a 3840 x 2160 monitor.

Thanks.

The estimated point value is called PPD (Points Per Day), meaning if you only gotten that one specific WU within a 24h period then that would be the points you would receive.

I don't mean the PPD, it's the 'Estimated Value' on the middle-right I'm talking about (see link).

Make sure you have applied for and installed a passkey to qualify for the Quick Return Bonus

See here http://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/faq-passkey/

Without that setting you mainly receive base points for each WU; I assume the number shown on the GUI includes the QRB a as result of a qualified passkey

With passkey you need to finish 10 WU and send them back to qualify the passwey. And keep an 80% success rate

I have a passkey for my account and have been using it since I started.http://i.imgur.com/ezhJwNr.png

As of right now I've completed 9 WUs and my points have gone from 9,221 (pictured in the link in the OP) to 26,784. Not sure if the points were back dated from earlier WUs or whatever but it seems like I'm receiving more points now.

Ok.

I didn't know about the bonus points (I should really read more) but things seem to be in order now.

Thanks for your help!

The first 10 WU's you complete to qualify a passkey do not earn QRB points. They just get the base point credited to your username and team. The official stats only show 9 WU's completed so far. Once the tenth one is turned in, then you will get the QRB points as well on WU's after that.

There can also be a delay of an hour or more before turned in WU's get their results updated into the stats database.
