Changing a team name

Post by DGM320 »

The forum that our team is named after is likely to be changing soon. Can we change the name of a team and maintain our present stats?

Yes, the person who set up the team will need to log in and change the name on the Stanford folding website. If that person is not still around or has lost the password the procedure gets a bit more involved. The stats will be maintained as they are kept by team number, not the name used.

Edit to add links:

There are links on the Official Stats page to Change Team Information, and also deal with a Lost Password.

Similar question here...

A team was set up many years ago but appears to have been abandoned (no activity for some years). It appears likely that the person who set up the team has since died of the protein folding disease he had and the team log-in details have been lost. If possible, I would like to "resurrect" this team as my wife has been diagnised with the same illness and I would like to carry on the work that was started. Is it possible to transfer registration of a team in these circumstances and if so, how?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the folding@home support forum BluePilot and sorry for the delay.

I've notified the appropriate Staff member and he should be in touch soon but this is the weekend so it may be a few days.

Hi everybody,

We face a similar problem right now. We want to change our team Name (246646) from "WirVsVirus" to "#HackingCorona". We do not manage to do this with the online form from Folding@Home. Is there any way to change the team name manually?

Thank you so much!

All the links seem to be dead. Are there any updated links?

Stats page - https://foldingathome.org/statistics/

Change Team Information - https://apps.foldingathome.org/team/update

Lost Team Password - https://apps.foldingathome.org/team/mailpass

I think these have been posted before in newer topics, but have added the new links to this 8 year old topic.

Thanks. This is the first and only topic that popped up in my google search, but the last post for help was in 2020 and may be the reason why.
