No more Core17 WU's?
Hi,
since a few days i am only getting Core15 WU's for my GTX 980. Is this a temporarily shortage or is something wrong?

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
Same here. Check other threads - people are blaming this on the new AS (assignment server). Fix ETA - unknown from I can see.

Are you using client V.7.4.4?
Do you use Beta flag?
Do you use Beta flag?
Re: No more Core17 WU's?
I'll let the OP respond, but I'm using 7.4.4. Had client-type=beta before (I was getting 0x17 units), noticed that I was not getting 0x17 units, then switched to advanced to see whether this would make a difference and it didn't.

I also use Client 7.4.4 with client-type advanced
Re: No more Core17 WU's?
FYI: I switched back to beta just now and got a 0x17 WU (P 9202).

@muffinxy, The GTX 980 GPU has a Maxwell core. Core 0x17 does not support Maxwell at this time.

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
So while we have seen many Maxwell 750 Tis folding core_17 work units for many months now using the v55 fahcore_17, it is still quote "unsupported" ?
Or did the new server code close a loophole, and now purposely excludes those cards, where the previous code could not?

How to provide enough information to get helpful support

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
Admittedly I missed a few months of forum activity, but wasn't it decided to give Core 17 work to anyone a long time ago (April)? Or has this changed again in the meantime?jcoffland wrote:@muffinxy, The GTX 980 GPU has a Maxwell core. Core 0x17 does not support Maxwell at this time.

(Apologies to the OP for the kind of thread hijack.)
EDIT: On second read, apparently it hasn't been decided as it doesn't say that. So I guess we poor Maxwell users will have to stick to core 0x15 for now or switch to the beta core 0x17 (0.55) until it moves to full again.
EDIT2: Last time I checked 0.55 was beta only. But maybe it was released to full already...? As I said I am missing a few months of posts If it's available for GA I don't see why the AS wouldn't give core 17 WUs even without flags.

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
Me too. I am only receiving Core 15 WUs at this time. I am using a Kepler GPU (GK110, GTX Titan, 836 Mhz Base Clock, 876 Boost Clock). Similar to the others reporting this issue in this thread, I am curious if Core 17 WUs will return. Thanks.muffinxy wrote:I also use Client 7.4.4 with client-type advanced

I'll push on Yutong to see what we can do for Maxwell support. It may make the most sense to push through Core18 ASAP.

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
Ok, I've gotten approval to allow Maxwell on core 0x17. Should work now.

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
We're going to release Core17 to Maxwell on adv (so donors can opt out if they're having problems). The latest drivers are recommended. Blog post coming up.

Re: No more Core17 WU's?
So since the announcement about releasing Core17 to Maxwell I've switched to "Advanced" but have still received Core15 wu's on my GTX 980 (latest drivers). Would it help if I deleted the work folder or is this just a matter of time before things settle out?
