Timing when change team assignment

Post by ChristianVirtual »

Which of the following statements are correct ?

1) the team number used while a WU got assigned can't be changed during the processing of a WU

2) the team number can be changed until short before a WU is finished and send back to the server

3) the donor name/passkey can't be changed after assignment of a WU until it's done

I think 2) and 3) are correct. Correct ?

Actually I switched by accident to a wrong team number and changed it just after a WU started hoping to get the point to the originally indented team once the WU finished

If I remember right 1 and 3 are correct but not 100% sure about the team number.

I think that number 3 is false if you're talking about the baseline points and the value to science but it's true provided you're talking about earning bonus points.

For the record, you can change any setting at any time. However, the consequences, if any, will differ on the timing, before a WU downloads or during a WU.

1. Bonus doesn't care about team #, only user name and passkey. The team credited is the team setting when the WU is uploaded.

2. Bonus DOES care about the user name and passkey. If the WU is submitted with the same settings as it was downloaded, it is eligible for bonus, assuming you met all the deadline and QRB rules. If either the name or passkey changes midway, the WU is not eligible for bonus, regardless of the status of either passkey or username. Base points awarded, assuming you met the deadline.

Thanks Bruce and 7im for the confirmations. Wasn't aware of the differences/impact regarding donor/passkey change with bonus points.
